  •   Sempervivum 'Pfalzer Nebel' is a cold hardy, drought tolerant succulent in the houseleek family, resilient in its rosette growth and clustering habit. It originates from the mountainous regions of Europe, where it naturally grows in rocky, well-draining conditions.

Pfalzer Nebel forms lime green rosettes with thick, fleshy leaves that shift in color throughout the seasons. The compact rosettes cluster together to create dense mats of succulent foliage, with each individual rosette reaching 2-3 inches across. It produces numerous offsets that spread naturally around the mother plant in the classic hen and chicks growth pattern.

Pfalzer Nebel produces tall flower stalks in summer with star-shaped blooms. The foliage and exceptional hardiness are its main appeal. It handles balcony wind and rain while tolerating dry heated air indoors, and can be moved outside in summer and kept outdoors through autumn.

Pfalzer Nebel excels as a rock garden plant and does well in containers, both indoors and out. You can leave it up to ten days without water. It is safe around cats and dogs.

  •   Sempervivum 'Pfalzer Nebel' grows well in full sun to partial sun but scorches in direct south-facing windows indoors.

Water it deeply every 10-14 days during the growing season, allowing soil to dry completely between waterings. Reduce watering to once monthly in winter.

Pfalzer Nebel does best in well-draining cactus mix or sandy soil with added perlite for optimal drainage.

It prefers temperatures between 20°F and 80°F and withstands frost down to 20°F.

Pfalzer Nebel grows slowly and rarely needs fertilizer, producing offsets naturally throughout the growing season.

It is hardy in USDA zones 3-9. It grows outdoors in Alaska, Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, Missouri, Arkansas, Tennessee, Kentucky, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, New Mexico, Idaho, Utah, Nevada, Arizona, Washington, and Oregon.
  • Q: How often should I water Sempervivum 'Pfalzer Nebel'?
A: Water deeply every 10-14 days in the growing season, allowing the soil to dry completely. In winter, switch to once monthly.

Q: Is it safe to keep around cats and dogs?
A: Sempervivum 'Pfalzer Nebel' is non-toxic and safe for both cats and dogs.

Q: Does Pfalzer Nebel need a bright window indoors?
A: Full sun to partial sun keeps it healthy, but avoid south-facing windows indoors where afternoon heat can scorch the foliage. A north or east window works well, or place it a few feet from a bright window.

Q: How fast does Pfalzer Nebel spread?
A: It grows slowly but steadily produces offsets throughout the growing season. A single rosette typically develops into a mature cluster within 2-3 years.

Q: Can Pfalzer Nebel survive winter outdoors?
A: Yes, it is frost tolerant and survives winters outdoors in zones 3-9. Provide cover from excessive rain but allow it to go dormant naturally.

Q: How do I propagate it?
A: Pfalzer Nebel propagates easily from the natural offsets it produces around the mother plant. Simply separate rooted offsets and plant them in well-draining soil.

    🌵 For Succulents
When your package arrives, you may notice a bit of loose soil in the box. This is completely normal during shipping.
Please remove your plants from their packaging right away and follow the care instructions included with your order. Succulents prefer to dry out between waterings, so only water when the soil is completely dry.
Succulents are resilient plants and typically recover quickly once they settle into their new environment. Give them a few days to adjust before placing them in direct sunlight, and avoid fertilizing right away.
