  •   Dracaena trifasciata 'Bantel's Sensation', also called White Snake Plant, is a rare cultivar of the common snake plant native to West Africa, where it grows in dry, rocky habitats. It belongs to the Asparagaceae family and was developed as a distinct cultivar prized for its narrow, white-striped foliage.

The leaves of 'Bantel's Sensation' are narrow and upright, growing in a tight, sword-like form with irregular horizontal banding in forest green across a predominantly white or cream ground. Each leaf is firm and waxy, reaching up to three feet tall at maturity. The white variegation on this dracaena is more dominant than in most other snake plant cultivars, giving it a noticeably pale, high-contrast appearance.

Mature specimens can produce small, tubular, white flowers on a tall spike, usually in spring or when the plant is slightly root-bound, though blooming indoors is infrequent. 'Bantel's Sensation' is also recognized for its air-purifying qualities, filtering formaldehyde and other indoor toxins from the air while releasing oxygen at night.

You can move 'Bantel's Sensation' outside for summer, but cover it from heavy rain and bring it back in before temperatures drop in autumn. It performs well as a floor plant or in a statement pot and looks at home in both modern and bohemian interiors. Rotate the pot every few weeks so all sides receive even light. Cats and dogs shouldn't be left to nibble or eat the plant, and it is best placed on a high shelf or out of reach of small children.

  •   Snake 'Bantel's Sensation' grows well in bright indirect light and also tolerates medium light and office LED conditions.

Water it every 10 to 14 days, allowing the soil to dry out completely between waterings.

'Bantel's Sensation' does best in a well-draining cactus or succulent mix amended with perlite.

It prefers temperatures between 60°F and 80°F and is sensitive to cold drafts from air conditioning or heating vents.

'Bantel's Sensation' is a slow grower, and a balanced liquid fertilizer applied once a month in spring and summer supports steady development.

It is hardy in USDA zones 9 to 11, tolerating outdoor temperatures down to around 30°F before frost damage occurs. It grows outdoors year-round in California, Arizona, Nevada, Texas, Louisiana, Georgia, Florida, and Hawaii. It can also be grown outside seasonally in the Carolinas, Virginia, and other zone 8 states during frost-free months.
  • Q: How much light does Snake 'Bantel's Sensation' need?
A: A north- or east-facing window works well, or set it back a few feet from a south- or west-facing window to avoid leaf scorch. The white portions of the leaf are more prone to sun damage than the green areas.

Q: How do I know if I am overwatering my snake plant?
A: Snake 'Bantel's Sensation' shows overwatering through soft, mushy leaf bases and yellowing at the lower leaves. Root rot sets in quickly in soggy soil, so err on the side of dryness.

Q: Can 'Bantel's Sensation' survive while I am away on a trip?
A: You can leave it up to ten days without water without any issue.

Q: Why are the leaves on my snake plant turning yellow?
A: 'Bantel's Sensation' most often develops yellow leaves from overwatering, but exposure to cold drafts from AC or heating vents can also cause yellowing and tip damage.

Q: Is White Snake Plant safe around pets?
A: Cats and dogs shouldn't be left to nibble or eat the plant. Keep it on a high shelf or in a spot that is out of reach.

Q: How do I propagate my snake plant?
A: White Snake Plant can be propagated by dividing the root clump at repotting time or by cutting a healthy leaf into sections and placing them in water or soil. Note that leaf cuttings may not preserve the white variegation — division keeps the cultivar true.

    🌿 For Houseplants
When your package arrives, you may notice a bit of loose soil in the box. This is completely normal during shipping.
Please remove your plants from their packaging as soon as possible and review the care instructions included with your order. Water based on your plant’s needs, making sure not to overwater.
Houseplants may need a short adjustment period after arrival. Give your plant time to acclimate to its new space before placing it with other plants. You can gently clean the leaves if needed, and wait to fertilize until it has settled in. Always check soil moisture instead of watering on a fixed schedule.
